"We came here as we had just wandered into the area, and we are glad we came. We all felt this was a gem of a museum, extremely well laid out, easy to navigate and well explained (in Spanish and English, I’m not sure if other languages were available). None of us would consider ourselves huge archeology buffs, but even we found this fascinating and educational; we could easily have spent half a day here. It also caters to children."

"During our summer visit to Madrid, we explored the Temple of Debod, one of the city’s most fascinating landmarks. It’s incredible to see an authentic piece of ancient Egypt right in the middle of a park surrounded by the modern skyline. Originally built in the 2nd century BC and dedicated to the gods Amun and Isis, the temple once stood near Aswan, Egypt. In the 1960s, it was gifted to Spain as a gesture of gratitude for helping preserve other ancient monuments threatened by the Aswan High Dam. Reconstructed stone by stone, it opened to the public in 1972. The site is peaceful and beautifully maintained, with reflecting pools that create a stunning view at sunset. It’s a great place to relax, take photos, and enjoy a quiet moment away from the busy city streets. The temple is easily accessible from the city center, and you may need a ticket to enter the interior. A must-see when visiting Madrid!"

"We felt hugely let down by the audio guides which don’t work properly, only inform you about a small proportion of the art on display, and don’t tell you anything you can’t read on the notes next to the piece. Save yourself the few euros to buy a coffee! Overall we loved some of the art but felt pretty disappointed by the whole experience."

"Sorolla is the Monet of France, an amazing impressionist painter mostly unknown to Americans. Tour the actual home in Madrid, enjoy his beautiful garden and fountains! There are a lot of his works on display at this museum."
